Health and Safety
O&G Resources LLP values the health and safety of both its workers and its contractors, and we work to create a proactive culture of health and safety within the business. QHSE procedures and training are strict and subject to international standards. Activities carried out by O&G Resources LLP have the potential to cause numerous injuries. In 2021, there were two instances of lost time involving employees of O&G Resources LLP and one of the contractors located in Kazakhstan. Every incident was investigated, the reasons behind them identified, and corrective action plans were created in compliance with our HSE procedures.
HSE Leadership, Communication and Awareness
In 2020, the Contractor HSE Performance Procedure was pushed out to all Contract Owners and C&P, and every day when they log in, a pop-up window appears on their screens with a safety notification from the QHSE department, and HSE Posters were printed and posted in all visible locations. To communicate HSE Performance to all company staff, monthly QHSE Reports are generated and delivered.
A lot of efforts taken to prevent COVID-19 in Company including the following measures:- Reduced office occupancy for remote mode as per Sanitary authorities’ guidance
- Daily thermometry before work starts
- Pre-shift PCR and express testing for all staff working on rotational basis
- Medical staff is provided with protective сoveralls and all required PPE
- All employees are provided with masks, gloves and antiseptics
HSE Rules
The 2020 safety campaign, which began in 2020, was extended in 2021. Our Rules outline the O&G Resources LLP essential safety standards and are based on international best practices in the oil and gas industry as well as an analysis of incident statistics. The O&G Resources LLP and Contractors have fully adopted the Hazard Identification Program. Every employee is able to report harmful conditions in the workplace, comment on safe or unsafe staff behavior, and offer suggestions for HSE improvement through this program.
The impact of equipment failure on related risk is used to determine the appropriate maintenance strategy type versus the equipment criticality. In the event of a resource scarcity, maintenance can be prioritized, and key systems can be reported on. Safety Critical Elements are devices, equipment, or systems that are necessary to keep process conditions within safe operating limits, or whose purpose is to keep the process from failing.
